Stylist Cher Coulter is one of the most dynamic names in fashion and celebrity styling. Thanks to her extraordinary sense of chic and internationally renowned reputation for forward-thinking style, Coulter’s singular talent is making an indelibly mark on the world of fashion.
Coulter grew up just outside of London, and started working as a dresser at fashion shows, including Hermes and Alexander McQueen, at the age of 14. She attended the prestigious Central St. Martin’s College of Art, where she studied fashion design. Upon graduation, Coulter worked with several leading British designers, and co-founded AKA, a menswear line that was sold at stores including Barneys New York, Colette in Paris, and Browns in London. During this time, Coulter also started styling and designing on-stage costumes for musicians Richard Ashcroft, Starsailor, and All Saints.
Seeking a change of pace and the chance to deepen her foray into celebrity styling, Coulter moved from London to Los Angeles in 2003. Her experience, intelligence, and effortless cool made an impact instantly, and she quickly garnered a celebrity client list filled with the top talent in the business, including Kate Bosworth, Elizabeth Olsen, Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie, Kirsten Dunst, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Known for combining directional pieces and drop-dead glamour in her women’s styling, Coulter possesses an equal talent for men’s fashion. She counts Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom among the ranks of her men’s client list.
Coulter’s arresting vision and obsessive creativity has also made her a favorite among the fashion industry’s top photographers, including Steven Klein, David Bellemere, Camilla Akrans, Daniel Jackson, Matt Erwin, Guy Aroch, Matt Jones, Laurie Bartley and Amanda de Cadenet. In 2010, Cher launched JewelMint, a jewelry line that she co-designed with longtime friend Kate Bosworth.In 2013, Coulter designed a capsule collection for JewelMint under her own name, and partnered with AG Jeans to launch the brand’s Stylist Series. Coulter resides in Los Angeles, and continues to work on top fashion ad campaigns and editorials, as well as styling her celebrity clients.
